Τα 61α βραβεία Γκράμι απονεμήθηκαν την Κυριακή 10 Φεβρουαρίου σε μια τελετή στην οποία τα είχε όλα.

Λάμψη, εντυπωσιακές εμφανίσεις, μουσική αλλά και ηχηρές απουσίες που συζητήθηκαν. Η διοργάνωση είχε έντονο άρωμα γυναίκας  με την παρουσία τους και τις ερμηνείες τους, ως απάντηση των διοργανωτών στην περσινή τους “κατακραυγή” από τον κόσμο, λόγω περιορισμό υποψηφιοτήτων γυναικών στις κατηγορίες.

Πλήθος επωνύμων, όπως η Lady Gaga, η Cardi B, η Jennifer Lopez αλλά και η Michelle Obama που μαγνήτισε το ενδιαφέρον, έδωσαν το παρόν τους κάνοντας την βραδιά μοναδική στο Λος Άντζελες. Οι απουσίες εξίσου σημαντικές… Αriana Grande (έπειτα από έντονο καυγά στα social media με τους διοργανωτές), Beyonce και Teylor Swift, έλαμψαν δια της απουσίας τους, με τον κόσμο του θεάματος και τους θαυμαστές τους, να τις αναζητούν.

 Η Kacey Musgraves κέρδισε το άλμπουμ της χρονιάς και η Cardi B έγινε η πρώτη γυναίκα που κέρδισε το καλύτερο ραπ άλμπουμ.    Το “This America” του Childish Gambino  κέρδισε τέσσερα βραβεία και το “Shallow” της Gaga από την ταινία “A Star Is Born” κέρδισε δύο.  

H Lady Gaga κέρδισε συνολικά τρία βραβεία: best pop performance, best pop duet για το Shallow, Best Song Written for Visual Media.
